Are you ready to grow your career at a values-driven, family first MSP? DTC is looking for their next Level 2 Field Technician. The Level 2 Field Technician will serve as the key technical onsite resource for clients, providing courteous and knowledgeable assistance with a wide range of technical issues across workstations, networks, cloud platforms, and business applications. This is an in-person role preferably based in northern Virginia.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide onsite technical support to clients across multiple locations
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware/software issues including advanced troubleshooting
  • Install and configure new hardware and software systems, including custom and/or non-standard hardware / software systems
  • Onboard new users including setup of workstations, email, and access to systems
  • Complete post-installation testing and handoff to support teams where applicable
  • Support Tier 1 Field Technicians with escalated issues as needed
  • Serve as the on-site lead for the execution of client installation and office build-out projects (includes guiding T1 and/or in-house support resources)
  • Install network infrastructure including cabling, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and racks.
  • Deploy desktop and mobile workstations, printers, VoIP phones, and related peripherals
  • Work closely with project managers and senior technicians to ensure successful implementation and validation of ALL work.

Skills You’ll Need:

  • 2-5 years of IT support experience in an MSP or helpdesk
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel daily to client sites across the DMV area using a company vehicle. This position involves daily travel to client sites across Maryland, Washington D.C., Northern Virginia, Pennsylvania, and other surrounding areas. It also includes occasional visits to the office for team collaboration, inventory updates, equipment pickup or return, and participation in meetings or company events.
  • Understanding of Windows operating systems (10/11), Office 365, and basic networking concepts
  • Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems
  • Ability to lift and carry computer equipment (up to 50 lbs)
  • Excellence and significant experience with hand and power tools
  • Understanding of low-voltage cabling standards and practices (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber, etc.)
  • Physically capable and comfortable working at heights or in ceilings (max 15 ft), crawlspaces, or behind walls to run cabling or install equipment
  • Knowledge of basic safety procedures (e.g., PPE, fall protection) and local building/fire codes related to cable management and equipment installation
  • CompTIA A+ or Network+ certifications, and/or experience with Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and Office 365 administration preferred
  • Prior experience in a dental or healthcare IT environment, with familiarity with Practice Management Systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Carestream) and HIPAA-adjacent data handling practices preferred
